Juice Plus+

One of the most common questions that I get asked as a pediatrician is what vitamin supplement I recommend.  For years, I did not have a great answer to this question.  It was frustrating to not be able to have a vitamin supplement that I could wholeheartedly recommend.  As a physician, I felt it was my responsibility to know that anything that I would tell my patients to take should be well researched and worth the money spent.

Our world today is filled with more toxic exposures than at any time in history. We are surrounded by toxins in the air, water and our food e.g. tobacco smoke, pesticides and radiation.  These toxins produce oxidative stress, inflammation and weaken our immune system.

Oxidative stress is the process by which oxygen combines with digested food to give us energy.  This process creates some dangerous byproducts such as free radicals.  Free radicals are unstable molecules which, left unchecked, will create inflammation and damage our cells.  We get protection against free radicals from chemicals called antioxidants.  Antioxidants are found naturally in our bodies but are also found in fruits and vegetables that we eat.  Thus, our diets are one of our key defenses against damage to our cells.

The most recent guidelines from the U.S. government (www.choosemyplate.gov) state that we should be eating 7-13 servings of fruits and veggies each day.  This is a tall order for a country that has the french fry as the most widely consumed “vegetable”!

The USDA recommends we eat 7 to 13 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Most people don't come anywhere close. Clinically proven Juice Plus+® helps you bridge the gap between what you should eat and what you do eat, every day.
